Confirmation 2025-2026.

Confirmation Program 2026–2027

We are pleased to welcome your child to our Confirmation preparation program.

The Sacrament of Confirmation strengthens the grace received at Baptism and equips young Catholics to live and witness their faith with courage through the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Classes take place on Saturdays from 3 pm to 6 pm. Please mark the following dates in your calendar and plan to attend, as all sessions are mandatory.

There will be 7 classes, and 3 of them require the mandatory attendance of at least one parent. Please note that grandparents, siblings, and other relatives may not attend the parent sessions.

Registration opens on July 10, 2026 and closes September 11, 2026

We accept baptized Catholic children who attend the two Catholic elementary schools affiliated with St. Joseph the Worker Parish (Our Lady of the Rosary and St. Joseph the Worker School). We also welcome children from other Catholic and non-Catholic schools who provide a letter of permission from their pastor.

Please note that attendance at all sessions is mandatory. Missing more than one session and failing to make up the missed class may result in the sacrament being postponed.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT "SPONSOR"

The sponsor plays an important role in the candidate's life. The Church asks sponsors not simply to be family friends or honorary witnesses, but to be mature Catholics who can support the candidate in living and growing in the faith.

For this reason, the sponsor must:

  • Be a fully initiated Catholic, having received the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist.
  • Be at least 16 years of age.
  • Be a practicing Catholic who regularly participates in Sunday Mass and strives to live according to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Be in good standing with the Church. If married, the sponsor must be married according to the laws of the Catholic Church.
  • Be capable of serving as a genuine role model of Catholic faith and Christian living for the candidate.
  • Not be the candidate’s father or mother.

The sponsor’s role does not end on the day of Confirmation. He or she is expected to encourage the candidate in prayer, participation in the sacraments, and faithful Christian living, helping the newly confirmed person to grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

The schedule published on this page reflects the program that St. Joseph the Worker Parish is able to offer this year. Families who already know that they will be away during several sessions, or who find that these dates do not fit their schedule, are welcome to explore preparation programs offered by other parishes.

Should you wish to register your child in another parish, the Pastor will be happy to provide any required letter of permission or documentation.
