Advent is a time of profound wonder and awe. As we journey toward Christmas, we are reminded of the unfathomable mystery of God becoming one of us, taking on the form of a fragile, helpless child.
In Jesus, born in a humble manger, God shows His infinite love by entering our broken world, not with power or grandeur, but in the smallness and vulnerability of a baby.
Pope Francis beautifully reflects on this mystery: “God does not overwhelm us with His strength. He asks for nothing but our love, and He shows Himself to be defenceless in order to save us.”
This season invites us to meditate on the humility of God, who made Himself entirely dependent on Mary’s care, Joseph’s protection, and the shelter of a stable to give everything He is back to fragile humanity. In Jesus, God enters into our weaknesses, pain, and limitations, transforming them through His infinite mercy and grace.
Advent challenges us to reflect this humility in our lives, preparing our hearts to welcome the Christ Child. Let us see the reflection of this divine fragility in every person, especially the marginalized and vulnerable.
As we light the candles of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love, may we remember that the Light of the World came not with force but in the quiet cry of a newborn.
This Advent, may we open our hearts to receive Him and share His tenderness with the people we encounter in our faith journey.
Have a Blessed Advent Season
